Welcome to Getting to Know the Crew, where we introduce our full-time, part-time, long-time and newest members of our team! As our team expanded quite a bit over the last couple of years, we decided to bring on some key hires to join our leadership team. Let us introduce a couple seasoned professionals who have recently joined Compost Crew.
First, meet Marcia Guzy, our new Human Resources Director. Marcia has spent over 25 years of her career as a human resources professional, working along the east coast with growing companies of all sizes, many of them with socially-responsible missions. She recently elevated employee engagement and instituted best-practice human resource systems at IMCORP which won “Best Places to Work in Connecticut” for seven consecutive years. During her tenure at Community Health Center, Inc. Marcia supported the company doubling in size and increased employee engagement by 20%-30% as measured by employee surveys.
At Compost Crew, Marcia has already established a connection with our team, allowing a space for them to feel empowered as she shares insight, supports management and employee needs. Marcia will be key to our efforts to recruit and retain talent, and make sure our systems to support and engage employees are top notch.
Next we have Flavio Goncalves, our new Operations Director. We’ve been seeking a motivated and experienced professional to take the reins of our operations for several months, and think we’ve found a perfect match with Flavio! Within a few days, he has been able to grasp our company operations, take a deeper look into execution, our current team, our equipment, and our long-term plans.
Flavio joins Compost Crew with over a decade of experience in the waste industry. He began his career at Don’s Johns where he held a variety of operational roles, culminating as their Senior Operations Team Leader.
Most recently, Flavio was a District Manager for a $30 million dollar operating revenue district for Waste Management. He spent a large chunk of his career with Waste Management where he swiftly advanced from an Operations Supervisor and Senior Route Manager to his latest role as their District Manager. He is held in very high regard by his former colleagues, and is already starting to make a mark on the operations here at Compost Crew. His accolades only exemplify his dedication to oversee and organize businesses with the experience and confidence to back it up.
Ben Parry, CEO of Compost Crew, expressed that “we’re excited to have both Flavio & Marcia join the team. We are looking forward to their contributions in helping us improve quality of service and scale up to the next level and bringing clean & convenient composting services to more homes and businesses throughout the DMV.”
We are excited to have Marcia & Flavio join our team. They are already making a difference in helping us serve more customers, better as the demand for convenient curbside composting services continues to grow.
