SCHOOLS & NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

St. Patrick’s has incorporated composting and environmental justice into its curriculum and everyday operations.

Grace Episcopal Day School believes in showing community, humility, and empathy toward one another and the planet.

The Islamic Community Center of Potomac (ICCP) prides itself on being a place for all. The community center also has a Green Team whose mission aligns with the religious duty to be stewards of the planet we inhabit.

Marshall Road Elementary School, located in Vienna, Virginia, has made sustainability a central theme. The school has over 700 students who have proven receptive and enthusiastic about composting. 

HOTELS & RESTARAUNTS

The hotel, including Blue Duck Tavern located within the hotel, began composting with Compost Crew, diverting 46,350 pounds of food waste in less than a year.

Simple, seasonal, healthy salads and grain bowls made in-house from scratch, using whole produce delivered that morning.

GROCERY & FOOD FACILITIES

MOM’s Organic Market has been a homegrown organic market since 1987, focused on environmental restoration 24/7/365.

Sprouts Farmer’s Market sells and donates healthy food to customers and community members then composts any food that is wasted, at various locations, with Compost Crew.

MULTI-UNITS & SENIOR LIVING

Kenwood House is a 70-unit apartment building in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Located near the Capital Crescent Trail, this co-op building attracts residents who enjoy local amenities, biking, walking and positively impacting the environment.

Rooted in the values of the Episcopal faith, Goodwin Living is a not-for-profit organization located in Northern VA. Since 1967, Goodwin Living has been on a mission to honor and uplift the lives of older adults and those who care for them.

Asbury Methodist Village is among the 15-largest not-for-profit continuing care retirement communities (CCRC) in the country and proudly calls Montgomery County, Maryland home where they offer seniors a range of independent living options.

D.C.’s only 100% locally sourcing florist. Female-owned and operated out of a small studio in the U Street Corridor, Little Acre Flowers specializes in daily deliveries of seasonal-inspired floral designs, plants, and gifts seven days a week throughout the DC Metro Area.
